Workshop on Empowering Parents: Children with special needs and behavior issues

The workshop was organized by the interns at MYND on 31st August 2024, lasting four hours and featuring guest speakers Dr Pranab Kalpa Hazarika, an occupational therapist, and Mr B. Moses Herick, a special educator and counseling psychologist. Dr Hazarika addressed sensory issues in children with special needs, delivering an informative and interactive session that engaged the parents that were present.
Mr Herick focused on family dynamics and the challenges families face, providing valuable insights into the behavioral development of children. The workshop concluded with an activity session led by the interns, offering practical suggestions for incorporating techniques into daily life.
Dr Mythili Hazarika provided support and guidance throughout the event, ensuring its smooth flow and enriching the overall experience, which empowered parents with essential tools to support their children more effectively.
